The following is an example of a formatted text field:

Enter the appropriate information and format it. The following buttons are available to format text in this dialog box:

Button

Description

Format: This will display styles that can be applied to the text in the currently selected line within the field.

Style: This will apply a style from listed available styles to the selected text. Alternately, you can select and style and the text that you type afterwards will adhere to the selected style.

Bold: Makes the selected characters within the field bold.

Italic : Makes the selected characters within the field italicized.

Underline: Underlines the selected characters within the field.

Strikethrough: Strikes through the selected characters within the field.

Lists: This provides list formatting options. The following options are available for selection:

  • Unordered List: Applies a bulleted list format to the selected paragraph.

  • Ordered List: Applies a numbered list format to the selected paragraph.

  • Outdent: Moves the indent of the paragraph 10 characters spaces to the left.

  • Indent: Moves the indent of the paragraph 10 characters spaces to the right.

Insert Image: This opens a dialog box that allows you to Browse to the image file you would like to insert into the field.

Insert Video: This opens a dialog box that allows you to insert a link to a video.

Table: This provides a menu to create, edit, and delete tables within the field. The following options are available:

  • Insert Table: Inserts a table into the field.

  • Add Row Above: Adds a row above the selected row in the table.

  • Add Row Below: Adds a row below the selected row in the table.

  • Add Column Left: Adds a column to the left of the selected column in the table.

  • Add Column Right: Adds a column to the right of the selected column in the table.

  • Add Header: Adds a header row at the top of the selected table.

  • Delete Header: Deletes the selected table's header, if one exists.

  • Delete Column: Deletes the column of the table in which the cursor resides.

  • Delete Row: Deletes the row of the table in which the cursor resides.

  • Delete Table: Deletes the table is which the cursor resides.

Link: Allows you to insert a link or removed a link.

When you select Insert link, the Insert link dialog box is displayed. Enter the URL you would like, the link to go to. If you did not select text that you wanted to use as the link before you initiated creating the link, you must enter Text for the link's text. Click Insert.

When you place your cursor in lined text, select Unlink will remove the link from the text.

Fullscreen: This option expands the fields to the entire displayed tab.

Alignment: This option allows you to define the alignment of text. The following options are available:

Align text to the left: Aligns the selected text to the left margin.

Center Text: Centers the selected text.

Align text to the right: Aligns the selected text to the right margin.

Justify Text: Aligns the selected text so that the left and right margins have equal spacing.

Text Color: There are two tabs that display. One is labeled Text. The other is labeled Highlight.

When the Text tab is selected, the selected text is formatted to the color chosen.

When the Highlight tab is selected, the selected text's background is formatted to the color chosen.

Change Font: This displays a list of fonts that can be applied to the text.

Note:

The results of pasting content from other sources into a formatted text field depends on many factors. Pasting from some sources may work, while from some the results may be incomplete or different than expected. The pasted content may look different than the source with specific formatting, missing embedded images, and missing media content. Ensure the pasted content meets your expectations and edit if necessary.
