You can control all user permissions for an application from a centralized dialog box. To access this dialog box, right-click on the application for which you want configure security and select Master Security. The Master Security dialog box is displayed.

This dialog box allows you to control all aspects of WorkView for user group permissions. To assign rights to a user group:

  1. Select the appropriate user group from the first drop-down list.
  2. From the second drop-down list, select the item you want modify rights to. The box will update based on the selection. You can select Classes, Filter Bars, Filter Bar Items, Views, Actions, or Calendars.
  3. Click Add. A dialog box listing all the available items for the selected category is displayed. If you want to select all of the classes, you can place a check mark in the header of the left column. The following is an example:
  4. Mark the item for which you want to grant rights with a check mark in the left column.
  5. Click OK.
  6. For Classes, select the appropriate check boxes to grants rights: View, Modify, History, Create, and Delete. The View right allows you to view objects. The Modify right allows you to modify objects. The Create right allows you to create objects. The Delete right allows you to delete objects. The History right allows you to view the History tab or dialog box for objects. If no check mark is selected, it does not grant the right.
    Note:

    In order to attach or detach documents to/from an object, users must have the Modify right for a class.

  7. When finished, click Close.

    If you want to grant all rights for all elements of an application:

  8. Select the appropriate user group from the first drop-down list.
  9. From the add/modify drop-down select button to the right of the user group drop-down list, click and select Add access to entire application.
  10. Click Yes to confirm that you want to grant all rights for the selected user group.

    If you want to deny all rights for all elements of an application:

  11. Select the appropriate user group from the first drop-down list.
  12. From the add/modify drop-down select button to the right of the user group drop-down list, click and select Remove access to entire application.
  13. Click Yes to confirm that you want to deny all rights for the selected user group.

    If you would like to copy the entire access granted to the current user group to another user group:

  14. Select the appropriate user group from the first drop-down list.
  15. From the add/modify drop-down select button to the right of the user group drop-down list, click and select Copy access to group.
  16. Select the appropriate user group to which you would like to copy rights by marking the user group with a check mark in the left column.
  17. Click Yes to confirm that you would like to grant the rights to the user group.
