Filter bars can be considered containers for one or more filters. When a filter bar is available in the WorkView client and it is selected, all filters configured for a filter bar are displayed. To create a filter bar:

  1. In the Repositories pane, right-click and select New | Filter Bar or click Filter Bar in the ribbon. The Create Filter Bar wizard is displayed.
  2. Enter a Name.
  3. Enter a Description for the filter bar.
  4. If you want to make this a filter bar that is used for user-defined filters, select Create as a User-defined Filter Bar. This option is only enabled if no filter bar is already configured as the user-defined filter bar for the application.
  5. Click Next.
  6. Select the Application from the drop-down list that you want to associate with the filter bar.
  7. Next to each filter you want to include in the filter bar, select the corresponding check box.
  8. Click Next.
  9. Use the up and down buttons to arrange the order the filters will be listed in the filter bar. You can click the A to Z button to list the filters alphabetically.
  10. Click Next.
  11. If you want to assign rights for the class to all user groups assigned to the application, click Add All Assigned to Application.
  12. If you want to assign specific user groups to the class, select a user group from the User Groups drop-down list.
  13. Click Add.
  14. Click Finish.
    Note:

User-defined filter bars created in the client are not displayed in the Filter Bars folder in Studio.
