You can configure the default selection for several options that are configured in the system. To configure system defaults:

  1. On the Home tab, click Properties. The Properties dialog box will open.
  2. Expand WorkView in the left pane and select Options.

The following defaults can be set:

Option

Description

Track Changes

The default for all elements created in WorkView that use Track Changes will use this setting.

Track Memo Changes

The default for all elements created in WorkView that use Track Memo Changes will use this setting.

Show Filter Counts

When this option is selected, all filters, which do not have user entry constraints configured, will show the object count beside the filter in the filter bar by default. When this option is not selected, all filter counts do not show by default. Users can turn the counts on or off in the client to change the default behavior for each filter.

Default to Show Labels

When this is selected, by default the label will be displayed when an attribute is added to a view.

Note:

This option only applies the WorkView Client. This does not apply to the Web Client or Unity Client interfaces.

Warning: Increasing the number of results to display can have a negative impact on performance. This number should be kept as small as possible. It is recommended to set this global setting to a very small value and only allow specified filters to display more results.

This setting will limit the number of objects returned in filters.

If a maximum count is specified on an individual filter, the filter's setting with override this setting.

Document Type

The Document Type selected will display in the Document Type drop-down list by default when attaching a document to an object.

Static Folder Sort

This option defines how the Static document folder's contents in sorted. You can sort it by Date Attached, Date Stored, Document Date, and Document Name. Any of these can be sorted in ascending (Asc) or descending (Desc) order.

Enable Perceptive Content

This option must be selected in order to integrate WorkView with Perceptive Content.

Use ObjectName instead of ObjectID for relationship attributes

When this option is selected, changes made to relationship attributes will be formatted in the following way within the History tab or dialog box of the affected object for the Start Value and End Value items: ObjectID - ObjectName - value.

When this option is not selected, changes made to a relationship attribute will be recorded in the History tab or dialog box as only the ObjectID for the Start Value and End Value items.
