You can password protect an application to require a password in order to make configuration changes to an application. To password protect an application:

  1. In the Repositories pane within the WorkView tab, right-click on an application and select Password Protect.
  2. Enter the Password.
  3. Enter the password again in the Confirm Password field.
  4. Click OK.
    Note:

If an application contains shared items, these items will be locked in all applications that reference them. If a shared item resides in multiple locked applications, each application will need to be unlocked before the shared item can be edited.

    CAUTION:

If you exit OnBase Studio with the application unlocked, the application will be unlocked for all users when they enter OnBase Studio. You must set password protection before exiting OnBase Studio.

    CAUTION:

If you are in an environment that is using a parallel upgrade system configuration, earlier versions of OnBase Studio will not respect password protection.
