Note:

Only views configured in the View Designer will be available for configuration in OnBase Studio. The View Editor is not supported in Foundation 24.1.

Views can consist of fields, filters, and folders, and are used to view and add information to objects within a class. Each class has Views folder in the Repositories pane that contains all of the configured views associated with the class.

You can create a completely new view or, if you are configuring a view for an extension class, you can create a view based on a view template.

To create a view:

  1. You can initiate the creation of a view in two ways:
    • Click the View button from the WorkView ribbon in the New group with the appropriate class selected in the Repositories pane.

    • Right click on the appropriate class within the Repositories pane and select New | View.

  2. In the WorkView ribbon, within the New ribbon group, click View. The Create View wizard is displayed.
  3. Select Create New View to create a new view. If you are configuring a view for an extension class, you can also choose to select Create View from Template to create a view based on a view template in the base class.

If you selected Create New View, the following screen is displayed:

If you selected Create View from Template, the following screen is displayed:

  4. If you are creating a view from a template for an extension class, select the Template from the drop-down from which you want to base your new view. Views belonging to the base class that are not currently used in the extension class as a view template are available for selection. If you are not creating a view from a template, skip to the next step.
  5. Enter a Name for the view.
  6. Enter a Description of the view.
  7. Click Next.
  8. If you want to assign rights for the view to all user groups assigned to the class, click Add All Assigned to Class.
  9. If you want to assign specific user groups to the view, select a user group from the User Groups drop-down list and click Add.
  10. Click Next.
  11. Click Finish. The view will open in a tab.
