When creating a view from an extended class, you have the option to Create a View from Template. This option allows you to use a view template configured for the class from which the extended class originated for the extension class.

Note:

Creating views from template can only be used if the base and extension classes both use the same editor version for views.

To create a view from a template:

  1. In the Repository pane in the WorkView tab, right-click on the View folder within the class for which you would like to create a view and select New | View.
    Create view window. The second option should be selected.
  2. Select Create View from Template.

  3. Enter the Name for the new view.
  4. Enter a Description.
  5. Click Next.
    Create view window with groups assigned to the view.
  6. If you want to assign rights for the view to all user groups assigned to the class, click Add All Assigned to Class.
  7. If you want to assign specific user groups to the view, select a user group from the User Groups drop-down list and click Add.
  8. Click Next.
  9. Click Finish.
    Note:

    Views can only be edited from the originating class. Views created from template cannot be edited from an extension class.
