If your system has views created in previous versions of OnBase, you must update those views.

Note:

Once you updated views for version 18, you can not convert your views back to a previous version.

To update views:

  1. Backup your database.
  2. Backup your resource folders.
  3. In OnBase Studio, select the WorkView ribbon.
  4. Within the Maintenance ribbon group, click WorkView Doctor.
  5. Select the View Updater tab.
  6. Click Analyze. If views are found that need to be updated, the information will display in the bottom pane. The following is an example of this pane:

External classes and orphaned classes that contain views that need to be updated will be listed under grouped categories for their class type, then by class. All other views will be listed under their respective application, then class. If you expand the view node, a brief description of the reason the view is out of date is displayed.

Additionally, the analysis shows additional resources, template and notification resources, and components which need to be stored in the database. If you expand the resources node, a detailed list of content that will be stored in the database is displayed.

    Note:

Once the files are migrated into the database, they are no longer accessed via the local file path and cannot be edited directly.

Analysis will also identify any potential issues that need to be resolved before performing the update.

  7. Once issues from the analysis are resolved, click Perform Updates.
    Note:

If at any time you import a view that was created prior to version 17.0, you must run the View Updater.

  8. When the update is successfully completed, you will see the following message:

    'Perform Updates' process completed.

All updated views and other resources are listed in the bottom pane.
