Note:

In order to configure this type of class, the LOB Broker must be properly installed and configured. See the LOB Broker MRG for full details about the LOB Broker and its capabilities.

Note:

It is recommended to use an Application Server connection to the repository when configuring a LOB Broker class.

Once you have created an external class to use the LOB Broker, you must configure it to function correctly. To configure the class:

  1. Select the class in the Repositories pane.
  2. In the Properties pane, select LOB Broker tab.
  3. Click Configure. The Service Location dialog box is displayed.
  4. Select > > Use the specified location and then enter the URL to the LOB server in the field. This cannot be the same server used to connect to the client and an ADO.NET connection string is required on the LOB server.
  5. Click OK.
  6. Select the appropriate Data Source from the drop-down list.
    Note:

If you are configuring this using an ODBC connection to the repository, you must enter the Data Source. A drop-down list is not available.

  7. Click Update.
    Note:

Upon saving, if you want to update the Method section, you must click Update and then make the appropriate changes, and click Update again.

  8. To define what data will be used to create objects, you must select the node that contains the data and click Set Root.
  9. Next, you must complete value mappings. Select a parameter you want to map within the selected Method and click Mappings. The Mapping: dialog box is displayed.
  10. Select the appropriate mapping for the selected parameter. None, Attribute, and Constant Value are the mapping options available. Attribute maps to the attribute selected from the ellipsis button (...).
  11. Click OK.
  12. If you want to map one or more attributes to ERP specific data, you can map data with the ERP Output node, if available, using the XPath Mapping option. Select the ERP Output node and click XPath Mapping. The XPath Mapping dialog box is displayed.
  13. Click under the Prefix column in the Additional Namespaces section and enter the prefix.
  14. Click under the URI column in the Additional Namespaces section and enter the URI.
    Note:

You can enter multiple Prefix and URI combinations, as needed.

  15. In the Mappings section, click under the Xpath column and enter the Xpath to the data you want to retrieve from the ERP.
  16. Select an Attribute from the drop-down list, which corresponds to the data found in the specified Xpath.
    Note:

You can enter multiple Xpath and Attribute combinations, as needed.

  17. When you are done configuring Xpath data, click OK.
