You can also use a filter data set to autocomplete multiple attribute fields based on attributes values in an object returned from a configured filter. This feature allows you to populate attributes on a view based on a single data set attribute selection. What makes this unique from using a related attribute configuration is that a link is not kept to the object and its values. This allows the values to be populated and the values will not be updated when the object that contained the originating values is modified. Likewise, when a value is modified on autocompleted view, the values from the originated object are not modified.

In order to configure this option, a few requirements must be met.

  • A filter data set must be configured and assigned to the primary attribute.

  • The filter used for the data set must have the attribute that will be used to select a data set value configured as the first attribute in the Display Column tab

  • The filter used for the data set must contain all of the attributes that are associated with the data set value selected and you want to autocomplete in the Display Column tab. The Heading name for the attribute must exactly match the value specified in the Attribute property of the attribute field in the view.

  • The attribute field in the view that contains the filter data set configuration must have the Multiple Attribute Auto Complete option must be selected.

  • The view must contain all of the attributes you want to autocomplete. Attributes on other views will not be autocompleted unless both the view that contains the filter data set attribute and the additional view contain the same attribute that is configured for autocompleting.

  • If you want to configure a cascading data set that autocompletes, you must ensure that subsequent data sets return values and are configured for autocompletion.

Note:

Only alphanumeric and integer data type attributes are supported for Multiple Attribute Auto Complete.
