You can apply masking to an attribute. Masking sets a specific format for a value, making the value easier to search for and to enter. To apply masking to an attribute:

  1. In the Attribute Configuration dialog box, select the Advanced tab.
  2. From the Mask drop-down list, select the masking configuration you want to apply to the current attribute. If you do not have any masks configured, you must create the masking you want to use. You can create a masking configuration from the drop-down button to the right of the Mask drop-down list by selecting the button then selecting New. You can also configure masking outside of this dialog box by clicking Masking in the WorkView ribbon. For more information about configuring masks, Configuring Masking
  3. Click OK.
