The User Entry tab allows you to configure the attribute search fields that users will be able to enter values into to retrieve objects. One or many attribute search fields can be configured.

A User Entry tab selected with a list of available search fields.

To create user entry constraints:

  1. Select the attribute(s) you want to allow users to search for specific values.
  2. Click Add.
  3. If you want to use a Data Set associated with an attribute, click under the Dataset column in the attribute row to select Yes. Select No if you do not want to use a Data Set. The Dataset drop-down menu is only available when a Data Set is assigned to the selected attribute.
  4. To change the value you would like to use as the prompt for the user entry attribute field that is displayed, click under the Prompt column in the attribute row. Enter the text you want to display as the heading.
  5. If you want the user prompt field to be a required entry, select the check box in the Required column.
  6. Repeat steps 1- 5 for each attribute you want to configure.

If your system is configured for full text searching and you want to enable full text searching for the filter, select Enable Text Search. You can specify a catalog to use for the search that differs from the application's default filter from the using Catalog drop-down list. If a full text catalog is not specified here, the full text catalog defined as the application's default catalog will be used.
