A rule is used to determine if the requirements to process a document have been met. A rule is presented as a question that returns a true or false answer. OnBase performs a set of actions based upon the response to the question. Some rules may also be aborted, in which case neither course of action is taken on the document. When a new rule is added, the Rule Type drop-down list is activated. This drop-down list is divided into groups, based upon what the rule does and what is affected. Once an rule type is selected, OnBase prompts you for additional information required in order to perform the evaluation.
