The option selected here determines how the processing workstation accesses files for processing.

Select one of the following:

Option

Description

No Download

Files are not downloaded from another source before processing, they are accessible directly from the workstation's local storage, LAN, or WAN. This option is selected by default.

FTP Download

The index file is downloaded from a server using File Transfer Protocol and saved locally for processing.

Note:

Secure File Transfer Protocol (SFTP) is not supported for use with XML Index DIP.

After selecting FTP Download, you must also configure the following:

  • Enter the URL of the FTP Server in the field next to the option. For example, enter FTP Server\:Port\\FTP Download Path/ where FTP Server is the name or IP address of the FTP server and FTP Download Path is the full, complete path to the directory on the FTP server where the index file resides.

  • Click the Connect button, and enter the user name and password used to connect to the FTP server in the FTP User Name and FTP Password fields, respectively.

If your FTP server requires a fully qualified domain name, enter the user name as name@domain.net.

  • Enter a \(backslash) in the Default Directory field, or enter the path of a specific local directory where you want files from the FTP server to be downloaded to for processing.

  • Enter the name of the index file in the Default File Name field.

See FTP Download Considerations for more information.
