The Field Configuration dialog box allows you to set up the Keyword Type and information layout for each Document Type included in the TIP format.

To access the Field Configuration dialog box:

  1. Click Field Order on the XML Tagged Import Configuration dialog box. The Import Processor Configuration dialog box is displayed.
  2. Select the desired Document Type and click the Field Configuration button. The Field Configuration dialog box is displayed.
    Note:

    Separate Field Order information must be configured for each Document Type.

    The Field Configuration dialog box allows you to map attribute, text and CDATA values in the import index file to system Keyword Types and other system values. This mapping tells the system which values to store as Keyword Values.
    Note:

    Keyword Values cannot be populated by information within Comment tags. This information is ignored by the processor.

    Note:

    If a Keyword Type is removed from the Document Type after the field configuration has been completed, a message is displayed informing the user that the Keyword Type is no longer valid and has been removed from field configuration the next time the Field Configuration dialog box is opened.

    Note:

    TIP can import files which use text encoding different from that of the database. However, if the encoding of the file does not match the database, any keyword values must be convertible to the codepage used by the database.

    To map Keyword Types to field tags:
  3. Select the appropriate Keyword Type from the drop-down menu. The >>Start Document Keyword Type is required.
  4. Enter field tag information in field that identifies the data to be mapped to the Keyword Type in the form of an Absolute Xpath. Understanding Field Tags for more information.
    Note:

    Field paths are case sensitive.

  5. Click Add.
  6. If the Keyword Type is a Currency or Date format Keyword Type, select the configured Keyword Type and Field Tag in the Keywords box and click Format. For further information concerning formatting Currency and Date Keyword Types, see Date Formatting.
  7. Repeat steps 1- 4 for each Keyword Type you need to map.
  8. When you are finished, click Close.
