Documents that are imported via TIP can be added to a Workflow process. The entry into the Workflow process is determined by the lifecycle(s) assigned to the document type in the Configuration module. To assign a lifecycle to a document type:

  1. Select Document | Document Types.
  2. Select a document type.
  3. Click Lifecycles.
  4. Select the appropriate lifecycle(s) from the Available box.
  5. Click Add to move lifecycle(s) to the Selected box.
  6. Click Save.
  7. Additionally, the process must be configured to add the documents to Workflow either as soon as each one is processed or when the batch is committed. To configure the process:
    1. Select Import | XML Tag Import Processor in the Configuration module.
    2. Select a Tag Import Processing format.
    3. Click Settings.
    4. Under the Options tab, select the Run Process check box.
    5. Select Add Documents to Workflow.
      Note:

Documents can only be added to Unity Life Cycles from the Core-based OnBase Client interface.

    6. Choose On Commit or During Processing.
    7. Click Save & Close.

Document types that are not assigned to a lifecycle will not be affected. Also, keep in mind that if there are several tasks that occur as soon as the documents are added to a lifecycle, the processing machine will take on that additional load if the During Processing option is selected. Otherwise, the machine that commits the batch will handle that load if the On Commit option is selected.

TIP documents are treated in the same manner as all other documents with regards to Workflow.
