Custom file formats can be configured in OnBase to control which application is used to open certain documents. In order to use a configured OnBase custom file format to import documents using Content Federation Metadata and Content Abstraction, the following criteria must be met:

  • The custom file format must be assigned as the OnBase Document Type’s Default File Format.
  • The configured file extension for the custom file format cannot match any of the built-in standard file formats.
