Document Type Groups must be mapped to the ECS - Chart Search Notification life cycle to ensure notifications are sent to Epic when document contents are changed.

You must have the Document Configuration Configuration Right to map Document Type Groups to the ECS - Chart Search Notification life cycle.

CAUTION: Ensure no other users are mapping Document Type Groups to the ECS - Chart Search Notification life cycle. If multiple users concurrently attempt to configure mappings for this integration, unexpected behavior can occur.

Note: Do not assign Document Types to the ECS - Chart Search Notification life cycle at the Document Type level or in OnBase Studio. Follow the steps in this procedure to ensure MDM^T08 notifications are sent to Epic only when existing documents are changed, not when new documents are created. The Integration for Epic module uses other mechanisms to notify Epic when new documents are created. For more information, see the Integration for Epic documentation.

You can map a maximum of 50 Document Type Groups to the ECS - Chart Search Notification life cycle.

To map Document Type Groups:

Open the OnBase Configuration module.
Select Medical > Content Changes Notification Mapping.

The Content Changes Notification Mapping dialog box is displayed.
Select the Healthcare Corrections Document Type Group from the drop-down list in the lower-left corner of the dialog box.

Note: This drop-down list displays only Document Type Groups your user account has access to.
Select the ECS - Chart Search Notification life cycle from the drop-down list in the lower-right corner of the dialog box.
This life cycle will be used for all subsequent Document Type Groups you map in this dialog box.
Click Add.
The Document Type Group is mapped to the life cycle, and the mapping is added to the list.
Select the Medical Records - Encounter Document Type Group from the left drop-down list.
The ECS - Chart Search Notification life cycle is preselected from the right drop-down list and cannot be modified.
Click Add.
The Document Type Group is mapped to the life cycle, and the mapping is added to the list.
Select the Medical Records - Patient Document Type Group from the left drop-down list.
The ECS - Chart Search Notification life cycle is preselected from the right drop-down list and cannot be modified.
Click Add.
The Document Type Group is mapped to the life cycle, and the mapping is added to the list.
Click Save.
A confirmation message is displayed.
Click OK.
Click Close to close the Content Changes Notification Mapping dialog box.
