Certain patients may need to be designated as VIP for security and safety reasons. The OnBase Healthcare API enforces additional security measures to restrict access to VIP patient data.
Note:
VIP chart security, which is applied at the chart (encounter) level, does not apply to the OnBase Healthcare API. For an encounter to be considered VIP by the OnBase Healthcare API, it must be associated with a VIP patient record.
