To enable VIP at the patient level in OnBase, you must contact your first line of support. The following procedure describes the steps to take before requesting assistance.

To enable VIP at the patient level:

  1. In the OnBase Configuration module, create a confidentiality code that matches the code used by your HL7 system to designate VIP patients.
For detailed information on configuring confidentiality codes, see the OnBase HL7 Module documentation.
  2. Record the internal ID number of the confidentiality code you created.
The ID number is displayed in the upper-right corner of the Confidentiality Code Configuration dialog box in the OnBase Configuration module. You will need to share this number with your first line of support.
  3. Contact your first line of support to configure OnBase for patient-level VIP security.
Be sure to provide the ID number of the confidentiality code you configured.
