The original message item is added to the ENC06 - Application Processing life cycle.

The child item is marked as complete and transitioned to the ENC05 - Assigned Attachment Processing Complete queue.
If needed, the Remove from Life Cycle ad hoc task is available to manually remove a selected message item from the ENC05 - Assigned Attachment Processing life cycle.
