For configuring document type for a particular financial business object type, a specific keyword type to store business object ID need to be created and included in the corresponding document type. Examples of such keyword types can include Supplier Object ID, PurchaseOrder Object ID, Supplier Invoice Object ID, Receipt Object ID and Supplier Contract Object ID. It should be an alphanumeric type of key of 32 characters.

To configure a document type:

  1. In the OnBase Configuration module, select Document | Document Types.
    The Document Types dialog box is displayed.
  2. Select a Document Type Group to which the Document Type is assigned.
  3. Type the name of a new Document Type into the Document Types field and click Create.
  4. (Optional) Include a prefix to your Document Type names to help indicate the Document Type Group to which the Document Type belongs.
    The new Document Type is added to the Document Type list and the Configuration dialog box displays.
  5. Define configuration parameters in the Configuration dialog box.
    Tip: These parameters can later be changed by selecting the Document Type and clicking Settings.
  6. Assign all the relevant keyword types to the document.
    Note: It is mandatory to include specific business object ID keyword for every document type.
  7. Assign User Group access to the Document Type.
  8. Continue to define all configuration parameters for the Document Type using the configuration buttons on the right side of the dialog box.
  9. When all configuration parameters are satisfactory, click Save.
