Metadata and Content Abstraction(MCA) provides a way for applications to access metadata from a content services platform such as OnBase using REST API endpoints. This allows application creators to make generic applications that can interact with multiple different content services platforms without needing to be familiar with the specific technical details of how those platforms work. Metadata and Content Abstraction translates platform-specific concepts (such as Document Types in OnBase) into more generic concepts that can be applied across multiple platforms. This allows the application builder to create a single UI or front-end for their application and use MCA to integrate the back end of their application with one or more content services platforms.
