To set batch processing options for a client-based batch mode capture profile, complete the following steps.

  1. On the Perceptive Content toolbar, click Capture > Manage Capture Profiles.
  2. In the Capture Profiles dialog box, select the capture profile and click Modify.
  3. In the <Capture Profile Name> dialog box, on the Batch tab, select any of the following options:
    • Enable automatic Server Processing. Sends the batch to Perceptive ContentImageNow Server for automatic processing. It is useful when you want to send documents directly to a workflow queue but do not want to gather custom property data, and you do not want to store the documents in a content model.
    • Bypass QA Processing Step. Bypasses the quality assurance step. We recommend that you do not select this option until you are certain of the quality of your captured files.
    • Create new batch when feeder is empty. Starts a new batch when the feeder is empty. This option is useful when a user loads a group of related documents that, when captured, complete the batch.
    • Prompt user for notes at Batch creation. Prompts a user to enter notes about a batch when Perceptive Content creates it.
    • Validate page count. Lets you specify the Prep User, Prep Date, and page count in the Supply Group Information dialog box. This option requires that you create a group called Prep Users and add at least one user to the group before using the capture profile. The Prep User and Prep Date show which user captured the batch and when.
    • Show Batch Report. Displays a report showing the batch sequence number and the number of captured pages.
  4. If defining a scanner or Perceptive ContentImageNow Printersource profile, to create a new batch when a barcode or patchcode is detected, under Separator Sheets, perform the following substeps:
    1. From the Type list, select Barcode, Patchcode, or Barcode and Patchcode as the type of code that will appear on the separator sheets.
    2. If you selected Barcode or Barcode and Patchcode in the previous step, in the Trigger box, type a barcode filter that a barcode must match before a new batch is started.
    3. To keep a separator sheet that contains a barcode or patchcode as part of the batch, clear the Remove separator sheet check box.
  5. If defining a scanner or Perceptive ContentImageNow Printer, to assign document property values and group pages in a single batch using barcodes, under Barcode Grouping, perform the following substeps:
    1. Select the Enable barcode grouping check box.
Enabling barcode grouping requires that you set at least one document key type to Barcode.
    2. Optional. In the Page Limit box, type the maximum number of pages to allow in a barcode group.
This option offers a safeguard if a barcode goes undetected.
    3. Optional. In the Trigger box, specify an integer or barcode filter to use when more than one barcode is detected.
  6. In the <Capture Profile Name> dialog box, click OK.
