CaptureNow uses document properties to store, secure, and retrieve a document. In the capture profile, you must select how to assign the property values. To set the document property options, complete the following steps.
- On the Perceptive Content toolbar, click .
- In the Capture Profiles dialog box, select the capture profile and click Modify.

To define the location where Perceptive Content saves
a captured document, on the Document Keys tab,
perform one of the following actions:
Situation Steps To store documents in a folder in a content model - Select the Save document to a folder check box.
- Under Document Key, double-click Path.
- In the Key Definition dialog box, select whether the Application plan defines path or User selects existing folder at capture.
To store documents based on document keys - Under Document Key, double-click Drawer.
- In the Key Definition dialog box, define the type and value.

To define the remaining keys, keep the following guidelines
in mind:
- If you did not specify to save the document in a content model, you must define Drawer, Doc Type, and one of the following keys: Field1, Field2, Field3, Field4, or Field5.
- If you specified to save the document in a content model, you must define Path, Name, and Doc Type.
- To have Perceptive Content gather the property value from the application plan, from the Type list, select Application.
- If you enabled automatic processing on the Batch tab, custom properties associated with the Doc Type property do not apply.
- If you enabled barcode grouping, you must set at least one property type to Barcode.
- If you set a property to Empty, Perceptive Content does not set up a field for that property.
- Click OK.
