To create a pen annotation template, complete the following steps.
- In Management Console, in the left pane, under Select Department, select a department from the list.
- In the left pane, click Annotations.

In the right pane, perform the following steps.
- In the Select an Annotation Type box, select Pen and then click New.
- In the selected row under Name, type a name for the template and then press ENTER.
- Select the template and then click Modify.

To define the pen template properties, in the Pen
Annotation dialog box, perform the following steps:
- In the left pane, select Properties.
- Optional. Supply a Description for the annotation template
- Under Options, verify that Is Active is selected so that it appears on the Annotations toolbar.

To change the appearance of the pen template, in the Pen
Annotation dialog box, perform the following steps:
- To add security to the pen template, in the Pen Annotation dialog box, in the left pane, select Security.
- Under Users and Groups, click Add.

In the Select User and Groups dialog
box, perform the following steps.
- To add a user, on the Users tab, search for and select a user and click Add.
- To add a group, on the Groups tab, search for and select a group and click Add.
- Add as many users or groups as necessary.
- Click OK.
- In the Pen Annotation dialog box, under Users and Groups, select the user or group you want to assign privileges to and grant or deny the necessary privileges.
- Click OK.
