To create a text annotation template, complete the following steps.
- In Management Console, in the left pane, under Select Department, select a department from the list.
- In the left pane, click Annotations.

In the right pane, perform the following steps.
- In the Select an Annotation type box, select Text and then click New.
- In the selected row under Name, type a name for the template and then press ENTER.
- Select the template and then click Modify.

To define the text template properties, in theText
Annotation dialog box, perform the following steps:
- In the left pane, select Properties.
- Optional. Supply a description for the annotation template.
- Under Options, verify that Is Active is selected so that it appears on the Annotations toolbar.

To add content to the text template, in the Text
Annotation dialog box, perform the following steps.
- In the left pane, select Content.
- Optional. In Enter text, type the text you want in the field.
- To insert a time or user code in the text, click the insertion point in the field and click Insert.
- In the Insert Date/Time/User Code dialog box, select a code to add and then click Insert.

To change the appearance of the text template, in the Text
Annotation dialog box, perform the following steps.
- To add security to the text template, in the left pane, select Security.
- Under Users and Groups, click Add.

In the Select Users and Groups dialog
box, perform the following steps.
- To add a user, on the Users tab, search for and select a user and click Add.
- To add a group, on the Groups tab, search for and select a group and click Add.
- Add as many users or groups as necessary.
- Click OK.
- In the Text Annotation dialog box, under Users and Groups, select the user or group you want to assign privileges to and grant or deny the necessary privileges.
- Click OK.
