  1. Open a command prompt, type ping <server address> where <server address> is the IP address or the host name of the computer running Perceptive Content Server (for example, ping 206.18.19.25 or ping notesrvr) and then press ENTER.
  2. If you are properly connected, the message you receive appears similar to the one below:

    Note: If you receive the message "Bad IP address" in response to the ping request, you are not connected to Perceptive Content Server. Check with your system administrator to verify the Perceptive Content Server IP address or name.
