When importing one or more files into a folder in a viewer, Perceptive Content imports them into the folder defined in the capture profile and creates a single item. In the displayed folder, Perceptive Content creates a shortcut to the new item. To import a file into a folder, complete the following steps.

This procedure requires a capture profile set to Single mode and File source that is configured to store an item in a folder and the Perceptive Content Drawer > Content > Create/Append privilege.
  1. Open the folder that you want to contain a shortcut to the new item.
  2. In the viewer, in the Capture menu, select a capture profile set to the Single mode and File source.
    If the capture profile you select or the application plan in use has any values that require user input, the Proposed Keys dialog box appears.
  3. Optional. In the Proposed Keys dialog box, perform the following substeps.
    1. To store the new item in the folder or drawer path you define, under Location, click the Create Location button, and then in the Create Location dialog box, enter the location values you want, and click OK.
    2. To apply property values, in the Proposed Keys dialog box, under Document Keys, select the values you want, including any Notes you want to add, and click Capture.
  4. In the Import Files dialog box, select the file you want to import and click Open.
  5. Assign property values using one of the following methods.
  6. Optional. Under Notes, add additional text to describe the new item.
  7. On the Scan toolbar, click one of the following options.
    • Save Scanned Image. Saves the imported file.
    • Rescan Page. Replaces the file currently displayed with a new file that you select to import.
    • Discard Scanned Image. Removes the file currently displayed.
    After you click Save Scanned Image, ImageNow Viewer- Single Scan automatically closes.
