In an application plan, you define a type for each document property. The document property type specifies the type of information that you want Perceptive Content to store as the document property value when a document is captured. The following table describes each of the document property types.
Document Property Type | Description |
---|---|
Batch ID | A batch is a group of files scanned or imported into Perceptive Content using Batch mode. Each batch created in Perceptive Content is assigned a unique number or Batch ID. This number is recorded and can be assigned as a document property value. |
Dictionary | The Dictionary type associates a data element in the application plan dictionary with a document property. |
Literal | The Literal type automatically enters static text as the value for the document property. |
Predefined List | A property defined with the Predefined List type requires some user interaction. In this case, a user selects an item from a predefined list of options. You can set up and maintain multiple predefined lists, though you can only define one list for a document property. After selecting Predefined List as the type, choose the list you want to use. |
Sequence Number | For the Sequence Number type, Perceptive Content assigns numbers to the document property in sequential order. |
Time/Date | For the Time/Date type, Perceptive Content records the current time and date as the document property value. |
Undefined | By default, the type for a document property is set to Undefined. This indicates that the property is not used. You do not need to set a document property type to undefined unless you are editing an existing application plan and want to clear the contents of the property. |
Unique ID | Perceptive Content has the ability to generate a Unique ID number and assign it as a document property value. Defining a document property with the Unique ID type ensures uniqueness within your Perceptive Content system. |
User Entry | You can set a document property to the User Entry type to receive manual input from a user. |
Username (Current) | Using the Username (Current) type automatically enters the name of the current user as the document property value. The name of the user is the same name used to log into Perceptive Content. |
Username (Select) | Using the Username (Select) type allows you to enter the name of a user in the document property. The name of the user is the same name used to log into Perceptive Content. You can use Username (Select) when you want to track which user enters document property values for a document. |
