Folder properties
Perceptive Content uses folder properties to store, secure, and retrieve a folder. Many folder properties exist and you assign a set of these properties to best fit your organization's business needs.
- Path
- A folder path indicates where a folder resides in your system. The path contains the values assigned to the Drawer and Name property fields. The path also contains each folder level in which the folder resides.

- Drawer provides the highest level within the folder hierarchy and is often defined as a department or function, such as Accounts Payable, Human Resources, Registrar, or Financial Aid.

- Type categorizes a folder so that you can easily identify its purpose. You select a value for the Type field using a list of folder type values that your administrator defines.

Shortcut properties
Perceptive Content uses shortcut properties to store, secure, and retrieve a shortcut. Many shortcut properties exist and you assign a set of these properties to best fit your organization's business needs. A document shortcut inherits the Type, Field1 through Field5, custom property, and Notes values from its target document. A folder shortcut inherits the Type and custom property values from its target folder.
